The teachers’ union has come out in support of the students. They have gathered at the University Corpus, where they have decided to support the students.
Academic staff have come out in support of the students’ protest, and in their statement they express opposition to the violence used by the police against students in recent days.
They have called for the avoidance of violence and for finding a solution, and if there is no solution, for the Prime Minister to resign.
They have also made it known that they have signed a petition in support of the students.
Citizens, students and academics from various universities in Tirana have begun a march toward the Prime Minister’s Office and the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard.
They stopped in front of the Prime Minister’s Office building, where they can be heard chanting “resignation” for Prime Minister Rama.
The academics have announced that they will gather every day at 10:00 in order to express solidarity with the students.
