Chronicle journalist Klodiana Lala, a guest on “Të Paekspozuarit” this Thursday evening, spoke about the transfer of Erion Veliaj and Ergys Agasi to the Fier prison. Lala said the two transfers are not connected to each other, unlike what is being speculated in the media. According to her, because of the charges weighing on Agasi, he should have been transferred earlier to a high-security prison.
Excerpt from the conversation:
Rakipi: Why was Agasi also transferred to Fier?
Lala: Agasi has also requested a copy of the transfer order. We have no reaction. I can say that, because of the criminal offenses for which he faces a very severe sentence, he should have been placed in a high-security pretrial detention facility, since he faces a series of charges. Given the serious charges and his financial power, he should have been in another pretrial detention facility from the outset.
We have an Agasi who disappeared for five hours in a food market in Elbasan. The Prison Directorate sent him to Bradashesh, where he is known to be controlled by gangs. One of the largest organizations, that of the Çopja brothers, has managed to carry out attacks inside the Bradashesh prison.
Rakipi: So you are saying they were transferred for this reason and not to compensate Veliaj?
Lala: For me, no.
