Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku appeared today at the premises of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), accompanied by her lawyer.
It is understood that Balluku has been notified of the extension of the investigations by SPAK until January 2027.
Balluku has been named a suspect in connection with suspected violations in the tendering procedures for the projects of the Tirana Great Ring Road and the Llogara Tunnel.
In addition to these matters, the former minister is also being investigated for suspicions related to corruption and money laundering, according to reports.
Balluku’s appearance at SPAK comes within the framework of developments in the Special Prosecution’s investigations. Until a final court decision, the claims and accusations against her remain subject to legal proceedings and do not constitute final proof of guilt.
