The boycott of teaching at public universities in our country, called by the Trade Union of University Employees, has met with weak support from universities in the regions. In the best case, the boycott was minimal at a few universities, while at others the teaching process continued normally.
In Korçë, a small number of lecturers and students responded to the call for a boycott, compared with their total numbers.
At the University “Aleksandër Moisiu” of Durrës, the boycott was partial. Some students and lecturers were present in the lecture halls, while it is not known whether the rest took part in classes. The university did not have its usual liveliness, but there was no protest either.
At the “Ismail Qemali” University of Vlora, the call for a boycott found no support at all. All lecturers and students held a normal teaching day, according to the set timetables.
At the “Eqrem Çabej” University of Gjirokastër, the Trade Union of University Employees is not recognised at all, as none of the staff of this university is a member of this union.
