History has cost us dearly; we must not surrender once again to fear.
In these turbulent days, when clashes weigh on us and the river of disinformation clouds the truth, the positions of the U.S. Embassy and the European Commission bring clarity: the right to protest peacefully must be protected, while violence against people, institutions and public and private property is unacceptable.
These statements are a call to conscience. To pause for a moment and understand what we risk losing. To distinguish the path that leads us forward from the one that takes us back to the wounds of the past.
Our convictions may divide us today, but the future of this country binds us forever. We must leave our children an Albania where words are heard, life is protected and tomorrow is awaited with hope. An Albania where they can build their future with dignity, in their European home.
Let us have the strength to protect peace and the courage to say stop to any violence, even when we do not think alike. Let us not allow the anger of the day to snatch away the future we have waited for so long. Albania in the EU must not have even the slightest hesitation, and each of us has it in our hands today to choose the direction in which the helm of Albania’s history will go.
