In a message addressed to public opinion, the Muslim Community stresses that the right to express oneself, to protest and to demand accountability is an important part of social life, while underlining that avoiding violence and respecting human dignity are a shared responsibility.
The religious institution calls on institutions to respond seriously to citizens’ demands, while calling on all parties to exercise self-restraint, maturity and responsibility, avoiding inflammatory language and actions that could deepen division in society.
According to the Muslim Community, any disagreement should find a solution through dialogue, mutual listening and respect for the law and institutions.
Statement of the Muslim Community of Albania:
The Muslim Community of Albania is closely following recent developments in the country and the protests taking place, expressing concern about any situation that may undermine social peace, security and coexistence among citizens. We believe that the right to express oneself, to protest and to demand accountability is an important part of social life, while preserving peace, respect for others and avoiding every form of violence are a shared responsibility of all.
At this time, sincere reflection, wisdom and responsibility are needed from everyone, to weigh the consequences of our words and actions on our common life. We call on institutions to respond seriously to citizens’ demands, and on all parties to show self-restraint, maturity and responsibility, avoiding inflammatory language, hatred and any action that could deepen division among citizens, placing human dignity, security and the good of the country at the center of every decision.
Any disagreement, however complicated, must seek a solution through dialogue, mutual listening and respect for the law and institutions. Albania is the common home of all. Differences in views and convictions should not distance us from one another, but remind us that peace, human dignity and the future of the country are values that unite us beyond any political or social difference.
As a religious institution, the Muslim Community of Albania remains committed to peace, harmony, mutual understanding and coexistence. We believe that a wise word is stronger than anger, that dialogue is more fruitful than confrontation, and that responsibility for the common good should guide every action.
In these days, we pray that the Almighty grant our country calm and wisdom, guide everyone toward what is good, bestow peace and understanding upon hearts, and help the leaders, citizens and all actors of society find the path of dialogue and just solutions. May God protect Albania, safeguard its citizens and guide us all toward peace, justice and the common good. Amen!
Muslim Community of Albania
