Leaving today to speak to the media, Prime Minister Rama, accompanied by Interior Minister Ervin Demok, said among other things: “Yesterday I was informed of a long list of people with criminal records who, under the mask of students but with no connection to student status, carried out violence within the so-called imaginary student movement, and have been detained and prosecuted by the State Police”, he stated. The Prime Minister claimed that the aim of these people is to destabilize the country and that behind them stand organized crime and foreign influences.
“We also have a series of specifics that we follow closely. Yesterday I was informed of a long list of people with criminal records who, under the mask of students but with no connection to student status, within the imaginary student movement, carried out violence and have been detained and prosecuted by the State Police. A list, that is, representative of a component of protesters that has been integrated into this diverse mass of people, with a clear aim: to destabilize the country and divert our path, pushing us back into the past. Behind these people stand organized crime and foreign hands, which we continue to investigate intensively. What struck me again was the reaction of the corrupt screens to a list that should at least make everyone reflect on their failure to distance themselves from violence. According to the VIPs of the evenings that glorify violence on these screens, this is a transformative moment for Albania. There is no other transformative moment here, except an open challenge to the problems that require addressing. A language of stones, rocks and threats cannot gain citizenship access for tomorrow. We are working long hours. I am attentive to the real causes of those who sympathize with a protest and feel the need to protest. Even though they are distanced from violence, as long as that urban terror was caused by a mass of ideologically radicalized people, from ANTIFA, religiously radicalized people, people paid to stoke religious division, they entered the crowd, disguised as students, to carry out violence.”, he said.
