Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro held a meeting today with 25 principals of high schools in Tirana, at the premises of the Ministry of Education.
In her speech, Minister Kumbaro said that lessons and the curriculum will be made up, while announcing that a team of psychologists has been set up to be available to children and parents. According to her, the teaching process has continued normally, and yesterday attendance was higher than last Friday.
“Gratitude to everyone, because they have been the main guarantee of parents’ trust. Yesterday we had higher attendance at school than on Friday, due to fear and panic about bringing children to school. Each of the principals, together with the teachers, psychologists and security officers, have been non-stop.
Psychological support for students is important. Every hour that violence takes away is an hour stolen from children’s lives. The programme and lessons will be made up. We have carried out psychological preparation of the staff. Also, yesterday we set up a dedicated team of psychologists, who will be available to children and parents, because every moment is a trauma.
The teaching process has continued in all schools. Nothing is happening in schools, but there are groups outside the fences who are trying to muddy the waters,” Kumbaro said.
