Mundësia party MP Erald Kapri gave strong assessments of key figures in Albanian politics during an interview on the programme “Koha Jonë-Debat” with Nikoll Lesi. Asked about Sali Berisha, Kapri described him as “outdated”, while on Flamur Noka he said he is a cost for the PD. He reserved his harshest criticism for Taulant Balla, whom he called the embodiment of the darkest history of the Socialist Party. On Agron Shehaj, his statement was surprising: “The next prime minister!” Kapri also commented on other political figures, not holding back criticism of Fatmir Xhafaj, Fatmir Mediu and the new MPs.
Lesi: What impression do you have of Sali Berisha?
Kapri: He is outdated, and I think history will be very divided when it judges him in the decades to come.
Lesi: Flamur Noka.
Kapri: A cost for the Democratic Party.
Lesi: Gazmend Bardhi?
Kapri: Decent, but he has lost a lot of credibility along the way.
Lesi: Erion Braçe?
Kapri: Politically underdeveloped, but I think he should never exceed his own ambition.
Lesi: Eliza Spiropali.
Kapri: Not enough courage.
Lesi: Fatmir Xhafaj?
Kapri: He should have left politics too.
Lesi: Taulant Balla?
Kapri: The embodiment of the entire darkest history of the Socialist Party, which starts with the Party of Labour. Everything is embodied in Balla.
Lesi: Agron Gekmarkaj.
Kapri: He is not playing the role he could play.
Lesi: Jorida Tabaku?
Kapri: Ambitious and with potential.
Lesi: Agron Shehaj?
Kapri: The next prime minister!
Lesi: Niko Peleshi.
Kapri: I would rate him as a citizen, but he is very politically subordinated.
Lesi: Gramoz Ruçi.
Kapri: I think Gramoz set a very good example by leaving politics, and I think many people will follow his example.
Lesi: Fatmir Mediu?
Kapri: Outdated.
Lesi: Sara Mila, the youngest MP in parliament, your opponent. You usually don’t speak badly of women.
Kapri: I think Sara and many of her colleagues, male and female, are the embodiment of the entire crisis Albania finds itself in today.
