For the first time, our country is hosting a significant event on the priorities and development of international student assessment, featuring three days of meetings, panels, and roundtable discussions among representatives of countries.
The PISA Governing Board meeting is being held in Tirana, with representatives from 91 countries.
PISA is an international study, organized by the OECD, that measures the skills of 15-year-olds around the world in reading, science, and mathematics.
Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro welcomed the opening ceremony, which was also attended by OECD Director for Education and Skills Andreas Schleicher.
“It is precisely young people who bring us together today, to discuss the future of education and the new challenges posed by a world where everything is changing at an extraordinary pace. Technology, and especially artificial intelligence, is changing the way we live, learn, work and interact with one another. The new approaches we try to build through the analyses that the PISA program also carries out must help us cope not merely with today, which moves faster than our breath, but help us prepare our children not only for the world we know, but for the one we do not know, and whom our children will precede with their abilities,” Kumbaro said.
