A medical student who took part in the student protest says civic mobilization is a sign of hope for the future of Albanian youth. He sharply criticized the police intervention against protesters, raising concerns about the use of tear gas and rubber bullets.
According to the student, these tools are used at moments when officers perceive the crowd and the energy of young people as a threat. He described warnings of criminal measures as pressure on protesters, stressing that such an action will not stop civic mobilization.
“Albanians have awakened, and this protest represents a new hope for youth. The police intervention was inappropriate, since in the absence of provocations there is no reason to use force. Tear gas and rubber bullets cannot be the response to citizens who demand change. Threats of criminal measures will not stop young people. There can be no dialogue with crime; we demand the resignation of the government, a technical government and early elections”, the student told News24.
