The Socialist Party does not forgive the chaos of the last plenary session in Parliament, during which deputies nearly came to blows. The PS is therefore demanding 60-day suspensions for Flamur Noka, Belind Këlliçi, Fidel Kreka, Luçiano Boçi, Edi Paloka and Besart Xhaferri, and 10-day disciplinary measures for 14 other deputies: Gjin Gjoni, Bardh Spahia, Albana Vokshi, Elda Hoti, Xhelal Mziu, Gent Strazimiri, Enno Bozdo, Kastriot Piroli, Kliti Hoti, Flamur Hoxha, Arjan Ndoja, Ivi Kaso, Zija Ismaili and Blendi Himçi.
The request, submitted to the Secretariat for Procedures, Voting and Ethics, is addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Niko Peleshi, and is based on Articles 63 and 65/1 of the Rules of the Assembly, as well as Article 6 of the Deputy’s Code of Conduct. In the document, the socialists claim that opposition deputies prevented the normal conduct of the session by blocking the rostrum, damaging electronic equipment and physically assaulting majority deputies.
The document claims that during the incidents, Socialist deputies Ervin Hoxha, Arkend Balla, Fadil Nasufi, Agron Malaj and Bujar Rexha were attacked and insulted. According to the Socialists, these deputies took part in blocking the rostrum, preventing the regular conduct of the plenary session. The request has been signed by 14 Socialist Party deputies and is expected to be reviewed by the Secretariat for Procedures, Voting and Ethics, which will decide on disciplinary measures against the opposition deputies.
Clashes lasting nearly one hour took place at the first plenary session after the student protests, with tensions between the opposition and the majority. Immediately afterwards, Democratic Party deputies blocked the plenary session with calls against the government.
