Democratic Party deputy Klevis Balliu has spoken about the incident recorded near the Lana River, claiming that civilians attempted to create a situation to remove him from the protest.
Balliu stated that the persons involved in the incident, who he says are allegedly members of the “Operacionale” structure, approached him on the boulevard and incited a situation with stones, which the deputy described as organized.
“People that we are identifying, who belong to the Operacionale, initiated a scheme to remove me from the protest,” Balliu said, claiming these were civilian individuals mixed among the protesters.
He clarified that he was not personally hit during the incident, but according to him, two opposition citizens were attacked. “I was not hit. Two citizens, opposition members, were hit. I cannot say whether they belong to one structure or another,” the Democrat deputy said.
Balliu rejected claims that the incident was linked to students, stressing that, according to him, the persons involved were not part of them. He also claimed that such events aim to divert attention away from the protest.
