A student protest in Tirana was marked by strong tensions and clashes between protesters and police. The situation escalated during the rally, where police officers are reported injured, while footage from the protest has also shown episodes of violence against high school and university students.
One of the most tense moments was recorded this evening, when a fire engulfed a police officer who was near the spot where the flames broke out. He was hit with Molotov cocktails and caught fire.
Following the incident, attention was also drawn to the reaction of the officer’s wife, who, in a statement to journalists, made threatening remarks against the person she said was responsible for the event.
”If anything happens to my husband, I will wipe out the entire family of that student”, she said.
