A citizen present at the teachers’ protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office expressed his dissatisfaction with the political class, accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama of lacking sincerity in his calls for dialogue. Asked by journalist Daniel Muçaku of “Koha Jonë” whether he agreed with Rama’s call for dialogue, the citizen said the prime minister’s words do not match his actions.
“Rama speaks one way and acts another. He tells you, ‘come on, let’s have dialogue,’ and then, as soon as he regains support, he denies you everything, head and land”, he stated, stressing that Albania needs capable, visionary young people devoted to their country, not people who sell themselves for petty interests.
The citizen said that for 35 years he has witnessed political deception, harshly criticizing both Edi Rama and Sali Berisha. He also warned that, in his view, the country cannot move forward through confrontation and policies that produce chaos.
Journalist: Rama called for dialogue, do you agree?
Citizen: Rama speaks one way and acts another. Rama tells you, ‘come on, let’s have dialogue,’ then as soon as he gets support again, he denies you head, land and all Albanians, the youth and the capable, visionary people who should build and serve this Albania, not sell themselves for trifles, because this is life and freedom. It’s not a fairy tale, as he thinks.
Journalist: Why are you at the protest today?
Citizen: I’ve been at the protest day and night. For 35 years these two legends have deceived us. They claimed they were bringing democracy, but we have anarchy and butchery. Like Comrade Sali, with all the weapons he has, and this one wants to bring it back again, but it doesn’t suit us, nor the students.
