Italy is bracing for public transport disruptions on Friday, October 30, due to a 24-hour nationwide strike called by the USB union and other trade unions.
The strike will affect trains, buses, the metro, taxis and highway services. In Rome, urban transport will be guaranteed until 8:30 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Unions are protesting against the rising cost of living and are demanding higher wages, price controls and the reinstatement of wage indexation.
Travelers are advised to check schedules before departure, as delays and possible cancellations are expected.
