The mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has confirmed that he will run for the leadership of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in the internal elections expected to be held next year. He has urged the party’s current head, Lumir Abdixhiku, to resign.
In a statement to the media this Thursday, Rama said his results in Pristina show that he is ready to take over the leadership of the LDK.
”Did you hear me say yes? I will be (a candidate for LDK leader). I have proven myself in Pristina, I have been re-elected, I brought the LDK first in Pristina. I think it would have been good (for Abdixhiku to resign)”, Rama stated.
