PS deputy Blendi Klosi says students’ demands have been heard, while adding that police are restoring order. Journalist Arion Sulo disagreed, saying police have used violence and that the country is one step away from another civil war.
Klosi: Should there be an agreement with the students so their demands are met? Or with citizens and protesters too? Of course the government is listening. One of the students’ demands was for housing. It was heard, and a platform was created to help students get homes with zero-interest loans. That is a response to the protest.
Sulo: They broke into the church today. The violence is the government’s. You have no part in the systematic violence Edi Rama has carried out over 13 years.
Klosi: For 12 years you had no answers. You say violence is being exercised by the state. Statistics from hospitals say over 200 injured are police officers.
Sulo: Forget about those. You’ve been brutalizing people for four days. You want to crush them with violence.
Klosi: This morning there was no violence. There is no repression. There is restoring order and dissatisfaction. Stones don’t solve problems.
Sulo: But what about those sticks at the PS headquarters, eh?! One step away from ’97, one step away from civil war. /TCH/
