The Pedagogy Dean of the Faculty of Law, Enkelejda Kela Olldashi, was injured during today’s protest, where she was present in support of students and their cause for better conditions and a future with dignity in Albania.
The wife of the late former MP Sokol Olldashi was in the area of Durrës Street when she was hit by tear gas fired by police. In footage from the protest, the pedagogue is seen crying while young people approach to help her. Her presence alongside the students also drew the attention of Monika Kryemadhi, who posted a public message praising the pedagogue’s stance beside young people and her distance from political engagement during the years of pluralism.
“Pedagogue Kela Olldashi, the students love you for who you are. I respect you immensely for the kindness and strength you have. In 36 years of ‘pluralism’, you have stayed away from politics, close to the students. I admire you for the strength and morale you have as a woman, as a mother, as a daughter, and as a teacher of our children. When youth rise, the government falls”, wrote Kryemadhi.
