The head of the Teachers’ Union, Aleksandër Kovaçi, speaking at the teachers’ protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, said the protests would continue until Prime Minister Edi Rama leaves office. During the protest, he stressed the teachers’ support for students and demanded the removal of the government representative who had come to deliver the invitation to dialogue.
Kovaçi recalled that the protesters had initially gathered in front of the Corpus, and stressed that teachers will stand side by side with students.
”We gathered there in front of the Corpus. We will not stop until Rama resigns. We will gather every day at this hour (10:00). Are the chairs still here? They were overturned because they are for the students.
The teachers are with the students, we support the students. Tell the government lady to leave here! Our demand is Rama’s resignation, opening the way for a new government. A new Albania”, he said.
