Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, has responded to statements by Sali Berisha, who described him as the most dangerous criminal. Following his clash with PD deputy Flamur Noka, Balla raised his bloodied finger, writing that violent protests will not stop Albania’s European integration process. “Sali Berisha’s violence cannot stop Albania’s European agenda,” Balla declared.
Later, speaking to journalists outside the Parliament, Balla accused the PD of paying masked protesters to carry out the riots of recent days, with 100,000 lekë per person. The head of the PS group also pointed out that it was Sali Berisha who tried to burn the PS headquarters, but without success.
”The police are protecting the institutions. We must support the police to guarantee security in every institution. The complaints you have filed are being verified by the AMP. Today in Albania, the only institution that deserves full respect and support is the SPAK. When a fuss is raised over the GJL or BSH and a prosecutor signs off on not sending the case to court, I don’t know if the head of the ILD is still in office.
It is unacceptable for 17-year-old children to be used for violence. Since you journalists do this job, turn to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office. Are there PD deputies who paid 100,000 lekë per head to direct violence? 115 people wanted for arson are sheltered at the PD headquarters. Sali Berisha is the instructor of the attack on PS. We knew Berisha would send his people to burn it. Not only will they not burn it, but PS will defeat it in 2027 and 2029. As a group leader, I want us to do 1/10 of what Macron or Meloni are doing, let’s not delay”, said Balla.
