In a politically tense climate, in which he has for weeks faced protests and calls for his resignation, as well as accusations made from prison by Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama is expected to convene the National Assembly of the Socialist Party on November 14.
Although the agenda has not yet been made public, discussions are expected to focus on recent developments within the socialist camp and the relationship between Rama and one of his closest political figures, Erion Veliaj.
Another important issue expected to be on the table concerns the upcoming local elections. Socialists are expected to analyze the organization of field structures, political strategy, and the process of selecting candidates who will run in the upcoming local elections.
