The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, speaking at a meeting with heads of the banking system, said that despite the tension and pressure of recent days, citizens’ deposits are safe.
“The banking system is the backbone of the Albanian economy and must continue to operate normally, without being compromised. Despite the tension and pressure, citizens’ deposits are safe.
The banking system serves businesses and citizens. Undermining it creates problems that affect everyone living in the Republic of Albania.
I thank and assure the Prime Minister, citizens and businesses that the Bank of Albania will continue operating, as it has done so far. We would like to coordinate our work as well as possible so that activities are not disrupted”, said Sejko.
