The area in front of the Socialist Party headquarters has become tense, after protesters threw firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices toward police officers who were positioned to protect the building.
During the clashes, protesters also used Molotov cocktails, causing fires in the area around the PS headquarters. In response, police used rubber bullets against the protesters.
Despite the tensions, protesters have stated that they will not withdraw until Prime Minister Edi Rama resigns. Today’s national protest has also brought together various factions, which have united around their political demands.
