President Bajram Begaj has invited representatives of parliamentary groups to a consultative meeting on October 30, where the focus will be setting the date for the 2027 local elections.
All political parties that have representatives in the Assembly have been invited to the consultations. Once the meetings conclude, the President is expected to issue the decree setting the election date, in line with the deadlines set by law.
Under the set deadline, Begaj must decree the date of the local elections no later than November 7.
Consultations with parliamentary groups are the preliminary step toward officially setting the date when citizens will go to the polls for the 2027 local elections.
