Rapper Capital T, a well-known figure, has not remained silent about the student protest. In posts, he has even called on media in Kosovo to pay more attention to developments and protests in Albania, stressing the importance of fair and independent reporting.
The artist has been threatened by the Tirana Police. In an AUDIO RECORDING obtained by Dosja.al, Officer Niko Kurti calls Capital T and puts pressure on him. The officer asks where he is at the moment and requests details about when he will return to Tirana. During the conversation, the singer tells him that he is in America and has no set date for when he will return.
At one point during the conversation, Officer Niko Kurti stops speaking and tells him not to hang up for the moment, then asks him and says that he did not introduce himself as who he is. “Are you Trim Ademi?” the police officer asks. At the end of the call, Officer Niko Kurti asks the singer that, after returning from America, he come to his office to talk in person. He emphasizes that it is a conversation that cannot be conducted at a distance, over the phone, but that he requests a face-to-face meeting.
The phone conversation:
Niko Kurti: I am an officer at Myslim Shyri in Tirana. Where are you?
Capital T: Good morning, I am in America.
Niko Kurti: When will you return?
Capital T: I don’t have any date. Ask me.
Niko Kurti: This is not a conversation that is conducted over the phone. When did you leave for America?
Capital T: A few days ago?
Niko Kurti: One second, don’t hang up on me, one second please!
Capital T: Here I am without worry.
Niko Kurti: Listen to me now, didn’t I tell you who you are?
Capital T: Who are you looking for, brother?
Niko Kurti: Are you Trim Ademi?
Capital T: Yes.
Niko Kurti: When you come, I will ask, to clarify a circumstance.
Capital T: Okay, what is it about?
Niko Kurti: Don’t worry, if I were, we wouldn’t be taking this on the phone. When you come to Tirana, come here to the office and we’ll talk.
