Kylian Mbappé has revealed an unusual habit he has had since childhood. The Real Madrid star plays football without insoles in his boots, even though today he has custom-made football boots tailored to his needs.
The French striker surprised fans with his confession, saying the habit began when he was a child and, over the years, became a routine he cannot give up.
Asked about the secrets behind his performances on the pitch, Mbappé responded with humour before revealing the unusual detail.
“Kylian has a million secrets! But the main idea of a secret is not to reveal it, right?” the Frenchman said.
The Real Madrid striker then explained that it is a habit he does not consider good at all, but one he still continues to practise today.
“I have a very bad habit and it isn’t a good thing, but I do it anyway: I play without insoles in my boots,” he confessed.
Mbappé also took the opportunity to give advice to children who play football, warning them not to make the same mistake.
“Don’t take the insole out of your boots! Leave it where it belongs! I made this mistake when I was a child and I have played without it ever since,” the striker stated.
Even though he now wears custom-made football boots, the 26-year-old admitted he continues to remove the insole because of a habit formed in Bondy, his birthplace on the outskirts of Paris.
