Milan has unveiled the details of the new stadium project, which will be the shared home of Rossoneri and Inter. The modern venue, which will be named “Generali Stadium”, will have a capacity of 71,500 spectators and is expected to mark a new chapter in the history of the two Milan clubs.
According to the plan, construction work on the stadium will begin in 2028, while the inauguration is scheduled for the 2031-2032 season, subject to all necessary approvals being obtained.
The project was designed by the renowned architectural studios “Foster + Partners” and “MANICA”. The stands will be built on two levels, surrounding the pitch at a 360-degree angle. Meanwhile, the sectors behind the goals, where the ultras are expected to be placed, will be single-level and have a 37-degree incline, in order to create as intense an atmosphere as possible.
Another distinctive element is the roof with a double curved structure, equipped with solar panels and modern technology to improve acoustics.
The project also includes the development of a 281,000 square metre space, with green areas, commercial facilities and entertainment spaces.
“Generali” has secured the naming rights to the stadium, while the investment will be carried out jointly by the owners of Milan and Inter, RedBird and Oaktree respectively.
