Around 5,000 body cameras have arrived in Albania and are expected to be distributed to all local directorates of the State Police.
The process will begin at the Tirana Local Police Directorate, where the cameras will be handed to Traffic Police officers. They will keep the devices with them throughout their entire service time.
Afterwards, the use of the cameras is expected to extend to other State Police structures across the country.
One of the main features of this system is that the cameras can be controlled directly from the Police Operational Rooms. This means they can be activated and monitored from the relevant room.
According to the planned mode of operation, officers will not be able to interfere with the recording of footage or delete it.
