A 37-year-old man has assaulted his parents in a village in Durrës, leaving them seriously injured. The serious incident took place in the village of Rrushkull in Manza. A couple, aged 69 and 72 respectively, were seriously injured by their son. They were taken to hospital for treatment. The woman is being treated at the Durrës Regional Hospital, while her husband has been transferred to the Trauma Hospital for more specialized treatment. Police have begun work to fully clarify the incident, and have preliminarily announced that the son has mental health problems.
Police statement:
In the village of Rrushkull, Manëz, Durrës, in front of his home, citizen E. K., 37, with mental health problems, struck his parents, citizen S. K., 72, and citizen F. K., 69, with hard objects.
Citizen F. K. is at Durrës Regional Hospital, in a stabilized condition, while citizen S. K., who has head injuries, is in serious health condition and has been sent to the Trauma Hospital, Tirana, for more specialized care.
Citizen E. K. has been escorted to Police premises for further action.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
