Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, from his cell, has congratulated Serbian students on their victory in the parliamentary elections, and the Albanians of the Preshevo Valley, who have managed to secure two seats in the Serbian Parliament.
“Congratulations to the students for bringing down the Machiavellian and populist of Belgrade!
Student movements and protests are not the “end of the world,” but the end of “one world.” The sooner we as citizens and policymakers understand this, the better we will know how to respond to the needs and expectations of this generation.
Heartfelt congratulations also to our Albanians in Serbia, who, according to current projections, are increasing their representation from one to two seats. A stronger voice for the rights of Albanians in Serbia!”, Veliaj wrote in his reaction.
