Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to the 2027 fiscal package, answering criticism of the government’s economic policies. Rama mocks the opposition’s stance, describing it as based on hatred and ignorance.
In his reaction on X, Rama stresses that tomorrow the government will speak through the adoption of the new budget, which for the first time in history crosses the threshold of 10 billion euros. The head of government describes the budget as an important economic step and characterises the accompanying package as the most ambitious for redistributing economic growth.
”Keep talking about the new fiscal measures, stir your salad of hatred and ignorance with working documents that came out half-baked, because tomorrow it is the government’s turn to say its word with the adoption of the first budget in history to pass the 10 billion euro threshold and of the most ambitious package for redistributing economic growth”,-Rama wrote.
Earlier, Sali Berisha accused the government of increasing the fiscal burden on Albanian businesses, warning of bankruptcies and job losses. In a video message from the Democratic Party headquarters, Berisha stated that the announced package provides for raising the dividend tax from 8% to 15%, the profit tax from 15% to 17%, and lowering the VAT threshold from 10 to 5 million lek.
