The Tirana Court ordered the extradition to Turkey of Turkish national Julide Yazici, who is sought by Turkish authorities to serve a sentence of 4 years and 2 months in prison for the criminal offenses of providing logistical assistance to a terrorist organization and membership in a terrorist organization. She has political asylum status in France and claims that the proceedings against her are politically motivated. On 7 August 2026, the Tirana Court imposed the security measure of “detention in prison” for extradition purposes, while on 21 August the Court of Appeal upheld this measure.
