The Commissioner for Elections, Ilirjan Celibashi, has sent a formal request to the Appeals and Sanctions Commission (KAS) to impose administrative sanctions on several political parties that ran in the elections for the Assembly on 11 May 2025.
The request is dated 3 October 2026, and emphasizes that following the inspection and audit of financial reports on funds received and expenses incurred during the election campaign, violations of electoral legislation and transparency obligations were found.
The violations include delays in submitting reports, failure to submit reports by candidates on multi-name lists, failure to declare bank transactions, as well as discrepancies or accounting and arithmetic errors.
