Luiz Ejlli speaks about the protest and criticizes the approach of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who appeared in the morning near the burned bins. According to him, citizens face numerous problems, and institutions should show readiness to engage in dialogue with them, to listen to their concerns and find concrete solutions, instead of demanding accountability for who incited them to protest.
Invited tonight on “Top Story”, Ejlli also assessed that the peaceful protest had conveyed an important message, but, in his view, it did not receive the due attention. Referring to the events of 1997 and January 21, 2011, he said he does not want Albanian politics to repeat violent scenarios.
In his remarks, the moderator also raised concern about the lack of communication between citizens and their political representatives. He criticized the silence of deputies and ministers, arguing that the situation calls for a reaction and direct engagement with the problems.
Muzaka: There are police officers who have been suspended. Police officers are also someone’s sons and daughters. These are difficult days for everyone.
Luizi: There is another video at Piramida as well.
Muzaka: Both cases have been identified and immediate measures have been taken. Our main focus has been self-control.
