From 1 January, all State Police officers will receive a salary increase. Sources report that the increase will be 20,000 new lek for base-rank employees and 15,000 new lek for officers with higher ranks, up to senior commanders.
This is considered the largest salary increase ever implemented for State Police employees. Prime Minister Edi Rama and Interior Minister Ervin Demo had earlier described this measure as a substantial raise for the “blue uniforms”.
