After six years on the run, 43-year-old Nikolin Pali was arrested in the Patisia area of Athens by Greece’s EKAM special forces. He was wanted for the double murder of his former Ukrainian partner and a pharmacist in Corinth in October 2020, for which he had been sentenced in absentia to two life terms.
Pali is also subject to an international Interpol Tirana warrant for armed robbery, as an accomplice and in attempted form.
During a search of the apartment where he was hiding, police seized a pistol, two grenades, two detonators, three pairs of handcuffs and a forged residence permit. His 41-year-old Albanian partner was also arrested, on suspicion of aiding the perpetrator of the crime.
Greek authorities are investigating Pali’s activities during his six years on the run, as well as suspicions of his involvement in other murders and in contract criminal activity.
