On the 13th day of the protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, one of the protesters accused Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leaders of the State Police of alleged violence against demonstrators, calling for their resignation and legal accountability.
“They are not state police, but police of power. They are law breakers, from Hita to Demo, and they must resign”, he declared, while also criticizing the State Police Directorate (AMP) for the lack of measures against officers involved in the incidents. The protester called on President Bajram Begaj to intervene to resolve the political crisis and demanded the return to citizens of assets that, in his view, were acquired illegally.
“The wealth of politicians should go to Albanians, because they have robbed us”, he said. He demanded that the officers accused of violence be brought before justice and addressed the prime minister directly: “Rama, come to the square! Albania belongs to Albanians”.
Finally, the protester also criticized the opposition, calling for concrete actions against corruption and for the enforcement of the law and the Constitution.
