Prime Minister Edi Rama on Friday revealed the faces, ages and initials of violent protesters during recent days of protest. In real time, in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, a Medicine student taking part in the protest came before the media and refuted Rama after the prime minister had published his photo.
Medicine student Jon Sulejmeri showed his grades, all 10s, and criticized the way the prime minister is treating young people who take part in anti-government protests. The student described Rama’s statements as an attempt to discredit protesters, and recalled that the prime minister had previously also labeled young people as “neo-communists”.
Sulejmeri also said that last Tuesday he was taken to the police, where he stayed for seven and a half hours. Asked whether he would take legal action against the prime minister, the student expressed skepticism about how institutions function, saying he did not want to waste time on complaints he considers pointless.
”The prime minister came out today and accused me of producing and selling drugs. Look at it, everyone. I am a Medicine student, I have it in writing, and I don’t know what fairy tales he invents. He accused us and called us neo-communists. I want to show the grades I got, 10.0. Yesterday he said the train. But these are the last attempts of the dictator. Last Tuesday I was at the police. I stayed for 7 and a half hours. I don’t know whether I will report it. I have no time for pointless complaints, the institutions are pointless. Who would I report it to?!” the student said.
