The student protest is on its fourth day, with unrest now also spreading to various cities across the country. In Tirana, tensions flared again after masked protesters threw stones at State Police officers in the area near the Parliament’s Presidency and opposite the Prime Minister’s Office. In response to the situation, the State Police intervened using tear gas to disperse the protesters and bring the situation under control. Clashes have continued in two of the main areas where protesters have gathered, while officers are trying to move the crowd away.
