A comment about the accused’s partner is reportedly at the root of the conflict that ended in the killing of 22-year-old Albanian Lorik Abazi in Croydon, south London.
According to prosecutors, Abazi had spent Valentine’s Day evening with his partner and friends at a bowling alley, where the situation later allegedly escalated into a violent altercation.
The incident took place in the early hours of February 15, when Abazi was stabbed and rushed to hospital in critical condition, but did not survive his injuries. Two other 21-year-old men were injured.
Ellis Anim-Annor has been charged in connection with the incident and denies charges of murder and intentional wounding. The case is being heard at the Old Bailey court in the United Kingdom, while the trial is expected to shed light on the circumstances and motives of the conflict.
