Majlinda Bregu has reacted to the violent protests in Tirana, expressing regret for the political legacy that, in her view, has been left to younger generations.
“Anyone who knows politics from the inside should feel even worse today.
It is a terrible sense of powerlessness to see, after so many years, the same scenes, the same clashes, the same consequences, and to leave young generations a place suspended between despair, the belief that only violence gives direction, and a political system that feeds on conflict in order to reproduce itself.
I apologize for the trauma we left as an inheritance, for a rotten political system, and for the dangerous model we passed on to you, where mutual violence is a solution,” Bregu wrote.
