Deputy Burim Ramadani was elected chair of the commission, and he pledged that the work would be based on facts, evidence and concrete institutional accountability, not political reports. Meanwhile, deputy chair Adnan Rrustemi stressed the importance of a professional and detailed investigation.
Commission member Besa Kabashi Ramaj called for the engagement of independent experts, as well as the interviewing of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla, and Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla.
The commission has 11 members and a maximum mandate of six months. At the next meeting, on Friday, members are expected to present concrete action plans.
Arlinda Zekaj was killed on 25 October in Vitomirica, Peja. Just three days before the murder, she had sent a letter to institutions warning that her life was in danger.
