Sali Berisha has called on citizens to join tomorrow’s protest in Tirana in support of the student revolt. In a statement to the media from the Democratic Party headquarters, Berisha described the students’ cause as an issue that goes beyond their own interests, stressing that the success of the protest is in the interest of all Albanians who want to build the future in the country.
“A friendly call to every Albanian citizen, let us join tomorrow in the most powerful protest in support of the student revolt,” Berisha said. The DP leader said the students have shown courage, determination and sacrifice, and called on citizens, regardless of age or political beliefs, to support their cause. “The students have amazed Albanians and the world with their bravery, sacrifices and determination. They deserve all support”, said the Democratic Party leader.
Sali Berisha also repeated accusations against the government, describing it as a “narco-dictatorship,” and linked the student revolt to the future of the country and the emigration of Albanians from Albania. At the end of the statement, he repeated the appeal for massive participation in the protest, with the message: “Everyone in Tirana, everyone with the students!”
