Erjon Vishkulli, the young man who was left with an eye injury from a rubber bullet fired by the State Police during the October 24 protest, has shared a message with his followers about his health condition. He is currently in Rome, Italy, where he underwent surgery aimed at preserving his sight, and everything has gone successfully.
In an Instastory post, Vishkulli conveyed a message of hope and faith, writing: ”When God decides to perform a miracle, nothing is impossible”. His message comes after the difficult days he has gone through since he was injured during the protest, while he continues to receive the necessary medical treatment in Italy.
A day earlier, the Council of Ministers approved covering the medical expenses for Erjon Vishkulli, in the amount of 5 million lekë. The decision aims to secure funding for his medical treatment after the injury he suffered during the protest.
The Tirana Prosecutor’s Office has also opened an investigation into the case, examining the circumstances under which the young man was injured during the protest. The prosecution is asking Italian authorities to forward Vishkulli’s medical records and to make the rubber bullet available after it was removed from the young man’s body. The prosecution has collected nearly 20 medical records of other protesters injured during the days of the student protest.
