Activist Luçiana Kokaj, a guest on Nikoll Lesi’s show “Koha Jonë-Debat”, expressed support for the students who are managing the protest, stressing her faith in their ideals and principles. “I would be very calm if they took Albania in their hands with their ideologies, principles and purity,” Kokaj said.
Asked about the possibility of creating a joint political alternative, she stressed that unity in a single party cannot be guaranteed, since the protesters hold different convictions. According to her, pluralism and the presence of several political factions can prevent power from concentrating in one party or individual.
Kokaj: The students today, those who are trying to manage the protest to some extent today, who are students and whom I am very proud we stand behind to support, and by tomorrow I would be very calm if they took Albania in their hands with ideologies, principles and purity.
Lesi: They, and you Luçiana, because you are part of a long protest, and the day after tomorrow, I would like to vote, let’s say, on the ballot, for Luçiana Kokaj, Dritan Goxhaj, and others, but make me an unhappy possibility, for you all to be on one ballot.
Kokaj: This is something we cannot guarantee. You cannot say that in the square you had the party of Shehaj, in the square you had the party of Qorri, in the square you had individuals from the PD, in the square you had the party of Lapaj. You cannot tell all these people, come on and unite, because I will create a party. Everyone has their own ideology, and it will be even more beautiful if there are many factions within the party, because then power cannot belong to just one party, as we are used to, and one individual, if parties become like those in Europe.
