In recent days, metal protective barriers have begun to be installed on doors and windows in the country’s ministries, with the aim of preventing damage from thrown stones and the penetration of molotov cocktails into institutional premises.
The measures follow incidents recorded during protests in recent days, in which stones and molotov cocktails were thrown toward institutions. The metal structures aim to strengthen the security of the buildings and prevent a repetition of violent episodes.
Police have taken into custody around 80 people suspected of having taken part in the protest a day earlier. According to preliminary information, officers also seized their mobile phones, as part of investigative actions to document the events and identify those involved.
Security measures at state institutions and police actions come amid a climate of tension following the latest episodes of violence during the protests.
