The “Martyrs of the Nation” Boulevard continues to be occupied by protesters, while young people keep gathering in front of the institutions, despite the tensions and clashes reported during the protest.
Despite heavy tensions, with massive use of tear gas and water cannons, the protesters returned to the Boulevard, and the stance of the State Police has been surprising: after having blocked the Boulevard for several hours, they have now withdrawn completely.
Following the departure of police officers from the Prime Minister’s office building, young people have remained in front of it, awaiting further developments.
The protest began in the early hours of the morning, while the situation became tense near the Ministry of Education. Students and high school pupils have been protesting for four days, not only in Tirana but also in other cities across the country.
