Today in Tirana, a national protest called by students and the Democratic Party will take place, following the rallies of recent days.
Students have announced that the protest will begin at 12:00 in front of the Ministry of Education. They are expected to be joined in support by educators, who have been boycotting classes for several days, as well as representatives and supporters of the Democratic Party.
DP leader Sali Berisha on Friday called on party members and supporters, as well as citizens from across the country, to join today’s protest in support of the students.
According to the organizers’ announcement, at 14:00 the protest will move to the front of the Prime Minister’s Office. One of the students’ main demands is the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
It is not known how long the protest will last. Incidents and clashes between protesters and police forces have been recorded at previous rallies.
