Gazment Bardhi, head of the PD parliamentary group, has reacted sharply to the expulsion of 20 PD deputies from Parliament by the PS, describing the decision as a serious act of political aggression and an attempt to strike at the opposition. In his reaction, Bardhi accuses the majority of arrogance and of disregarding parliamentary democracy, while stressing that the opposition is in Parliament thanks to the mandate it received from citizens, and not with the permission of the government. “Parliament is not the property of power, and the opposition is not in Parliament with the government’s permission, but with the citizens’ mandate!” Bardhi emphasizes.

They have lost their composure, they have lost their reason, and they are openly showing their fear of citizens and the opposition! The expulsion of 20 PD deputies from Parliament is a serious act of political aggression and an open attempt to strike at the opposition and silence the voice of the citizens it represents. Those whom citizens have rejected and declared unwanted now seek to expel the opposition’s representatives from Parliament. This is the peak of arrogance and of disregard for parliamentary democracy.
Parliament is not the property of power, and the opposition is not in Parliament with the government’s permission, but with the citizens’ mandate! Unlike the deputies who are vassals of criminal clans, who are burdened by accusations and suspicions of links to organized crime or acts of corruption, PD deputies are there to represent the interests of citizens, to denounce abuses, and to hold to account a power that seeks to rule without opposition.
The expulsion of deputies does not silence the opposition, does not erase the truth, and does not stop the fight for democracy. On the contrary, every attempt to expel the opposition only demonstrates the fear of power of free speech and accountability. The opposition will not be intimidated, will not remain silent, and will not withdraw in the face of any political pressure. Democracy is not protected by expelling opponents, but by respecting pluralism and the will of citizens.
